Season Starting
Well everyone, the 2008 Lancer Rugby Season is upon us. Strap on your boots, get out the cold and wet weather gear and prepare for the great upcoming season. Over the Summer months, we have put a lot of effort into fund raising. We want to thank all players, parents and friends of rugby for their wonderful efforts. We actually have several players who, through fund raising efforts, have paid their 2008 dues off and others who have paid off a percentage. Great job!!! We will be working on more fundraisers in the future. Keep checking the website and be prepared for these upcoming events. Some new equipment that has been purchased through fundraising includes; new balls, 6 new tackle suits and 3 pop up tents for players, parents and coaches to stay dry, on the sidelines, under during wet weather games. Also, we are looking into tackle bags and Lancer Rugby goal post pads. We have acquired seveal sponsors over the last few years. Give thanks by showing your patronage to all of them. Mountain Mikes Pizza on Folsom Blvd has been our biggest contributor so far. Go in and say thanks to Mike and Cher next time you are ordering a pizza. This season, we have a new sponsor coming on board. 180 Energy Drink....They will be providing us product to use for fundraising and also promotional product which will be given to players. Thanks again to all coaches, players, parents and friends of rugby for helping to make this upcoming 2008 rugby season a great one. GO LANCERS!!!!!

FUNDRAISERS
Fundraisers can help a player raise funds to help offset the cost of their dues and uniforms.
How the program has been set up: A player, parent or friend can provide time that covers a certain player. Their time and efforts will be rewarded by by a percentage of the fundraiser, up to the player dues owed or uniform needs. After dues and uniforms have been covered, the fundraiser will go to further help the club with their needs.
The percentage breakdown: On events where work is provided for fund raising(i.e. Air Show, State Fair, 4th of July Festival, car washes, etc), 25% of the fundraiser will go towards the players dues, up to the point that dues is paid in full. On fundraisers where something is to be sold (i.e. raffle tickets, fundraiser cards, t-shirts, etc.), 50% of the fundraiser will go toward the players dues, up to the point that dues is paid in full. Once dues and uniform costs are covered, the remaining amount will go to help club needs.
Fundraisers are an easy way to lower your dues or even eliminate it. Get on board and help yourself and your club in the future.
Upcoming Fundraisers: By the end of December, Kick Off Tournament raffle tickets will be available to those who want to sell them. The ticket cost is $5.00. $2.50 from each tick will go to the player and $2.50 will go to the KOT.
24 Hour Fitness packets are available now. The packets are for a month free membership to any 24 Hour Fitness and the cost of the packets are $10.00. $5.00 goes to the player and $5.00 goes to help the club.
